Privacy policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Mandate Atlas helps professionals follow the European Parliament: votes, speeches, meetings and legislative files. This page explains, in plain words, what data we handle and why. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In short
- Your data stays in the EU. The service and its persistent data are hosted and processed in the European Union.
- Our AI runs on our own servers. Questions you ask are not sent to external AI providers and are not used to train models.
- No advertising, no tracking. We use no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers.
- We do not sell or share your data.
Your account
Access to Mandate Atlas is by invitation. To give you an account we store your username, your role and your password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash, never in readable form. We use this data only to let you sign in and to protect your account.
Your account is kept while you have access. When access ends, or if you ask us, we delete it.
Using the service
Like any online service, our servers keep technical logs: sign-ins, administrative actions and the requests made in the app. We use them only to keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems. They are deleted automatically after 90 days at the latest.
Your browser
Mandate Atlas uses no cookies. To keep you signed in and remember your settings, the app saves a few items in your browser's storage: a sign-in token (it does not contain your password), your preferences and a local copy of parliamentary data so pages load faster. Signing out removes the token. You can clear everything at any time from your browser settings.
AI features
Search and the Intelligence assistant use open-source language models that run on our own servers in the EU. Your questions are processed there to produce an answer. They are not sent to external AI providers, and they are not used to train any model.
Answers are based on public parliamentary sources and link back to them. They can contain mistakes: check the linked source before relying on a finding.
If you explicitly ask the assistant to search the web, only the search terms are sent from our servers to a public search engine, never your account details.
Where data is processed
The service and its persistent data are hosted and processed in the European Union. Connections to Mandate Atlas are encrypted (HTTPS). Fonts, scripts and other files are served from our own servers, without third-party content networks.
External content
MEP portraits are shown directly from the European Parliament website, so your browser connects to europarl.europa.eu as it would on a normal visit there. When you open a source, a news article or an official document, you go to the website that published it, and that site's own privacy policy applies.
Parliamentary data
Mandate Atlas analyses information that is public by law about the work of Members of the European Parliament in their public role: roll-call votes, plenary speeches, declared meetings, amendments, questions and legislative files. Sources include the European Parliament's open data, plenary records and the EU Transparency Register, Wikidata, and public news feeds.
We process this information in the public interest of transparency on the work of elected representatives. Each source keeps its own licence and reuse conditions. Members of the European Parliament can exercise the rights below about the data concerning them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy of it. To make a request, write to us using the contact details you received with your access, or ask the person who set up your account. We reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the EU Member State where you live, work or believe an infringement took place. The European Data Protection Board publishes a list of national authorities at edpb.europa.eu.
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
